Tilly Needham

Lead SEND Dance Facilitator

Tilly is an Outreach Artist and Sensory Integrative Movement Practitioner, who holds an inclusive ethos, celebrating people and the arts, at the heart of her practice. In her work she facilitates joyful and accessible dance that nurtures individuals’ creativity, confidence and communication. 


Originally from Hull and now, based in Manchester, Tilly is a proud Northerner. She originally discovered her love for contemporary dance in Leeds when she was 15, after gaining a place on the CAT programme at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

 

After her time at NSCD, Tilly went on to study a BA in Creative Expressive Therapies- Dance and Movement, at the University of Derby where she graduated with a First Class Honours. Through her degree she further explored her passion for inclusive, person centred and therapeutically informed movement practices.


Tilly is currently studying an MA in Creative Dance Education at the University of Salford where she continues to develop her own practice in sensory integrative dance- working with children and young people with sensory disabilities and PMLD to explore innate and expressive movement opportunities through sensation

Tilly began working at Move Manchester though an internship in 2023 then secured their role as Lead SEND Dance facilitator in March, 2024.
