CPD Course:
Inclusivity and support: Gender and Queerness within schools.
In April 2023, Move Manchester's Director, Jack Hilton, had the privilege of delivering a highly impactful CPD course in partnership with Salford LCEP. The session focused on the important topic of Gender and Queerness within schools, specifically addressing inclusivity and support.
The course was specifically designed to equip Salford teachers and educators with valuable knowledge, strategies, and exercises that would help create a more inclusive and supportive environment for young people in the education system. It aimed to increase their awareness and understanding of the unique challenges faced by gender non-conforming and queer students, ensuring that they could effectively support and advocate for these individuals.
Jack Hilton facilitated engaging discussions, shared insightful techniques, and introduced thought-provoking exercises during the session. The feedback received from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their appreciation for the practical knowledge and tools they gained from the course. It was truly inspiring to witness the commitment and dedication of the educators as they actively worked towards creating a more inclusive and empowering educational environment.
We are proud to have collaborated with Salford LCEP on this vital initiative and are optimistic about its long-term impact on the well-being and success of young individuals. Our ongoing commitment to supporting inclusivity and diversity within schools remains strong, and we look forward to future collaborations that foster positive change.
Alongside this CPD course we are also creating and aim to offer the following CPD sessions:
-Mixed heritage confidence and celebration within dance
-Movement as a catalyst for mental health support
-SEND dance delivery: teaching and performing
-Removing the gender binary from dance
